Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace
If you like watching science-fiction films, you should see Star Wars Episode 1. This is the first film of the Star Wars series and the best one of the genre I have ever seen. The movie was written and directed in 1999 by George Lucas. It tells the story of Anakin Skywalker and his many adventures in space.
The story begins when the main character, a nine-year-old slave called Anakin Skywaler does the dishes. One day a Yedi arrives and helps him to escape from his master. Anakin joins the Yedis and learns to become one of them. They are good humans and they fight against the Siths who are bad people.
I liked the movie. It is action-packed and gripping, you cannot wait for the next twist of action. The acting is excellent. The only thing I was not so excited about were the special effects. It is an old movie and the special effects are weak and boring.
All in all, I would recommend the film to anybody who likes science-fiction films and especially Star Wars. You can dive into an imaginary world and forget about school.

Life of Pi
My favourite film is called "Life of Pi". The film which is a survival drama was released in 2012. It is based on a novel by Yann Martell and tells the story of an Indian boy called Pi who drifts on a boat with a Bengal tiger in the Pacific Ocean.
The story begins when Pi’s father who owns a hotel and a little zoo in India decides to go to Canada by sea. The Pi’s family must take the animals with them. During the trip, there is a terrible storm, and Pi is the only family member who survives. In the morning on the next day, he finds himself in the boat with a zebra, a hyena, a monkey and a tiger. The tiger called Richard Parker becomes his only friend during their long sea journey.
The film is excellent, especially some scenes with the tiger are thrilling. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is hard to believe that you can be in one boat with a hungry animal and still survive. The film is not action-packed but there are fantastic pictures of the sea and wildlife, and amazing scenes with the tiger.The acting of the main character is superb.
I liked the film. It is definitely worth seeing. It is a family movie suitable for children. I strongly recommend it to anyone because it makes you forget about school and everyday problems.
