Relative pronouns - Relativpronomen

Im Englischen werden die folgenden Formen als Relativpronomen verwendet:

 

  auf Personen bezogen auf Tiere / Sachen bezogen
1. Subjekt WHO oder THAT  WHICH oder THAT
2. Objekt WHO (M) oder THAT WHICH oder THAT
3. Possessiv WHOSE WHOSE

 

Beispiele

  1. This is the girl WHO found my schoolbag.
  2. This is the girl WHOM I met at the airport.  
    This is the girl I met at the airport.  
  3. This is the girl WHOSE brother is in my class.

1. The elephant is the animal WHICH is big and grey. 
2. The elephant WHICH we saw at the zoo, is called Freddie. 
     The elephant we saw at the zoo, is called Freddie. 
3. This is the elephant WHOSE baby was born at the zoo. 

 

  1. This is the girl THAT found my schoolbag.
  2. This is the girl THAT I met at the airport. 
    This is the girl I met at the airport. 
  3. This is the girl WHOSE brother is in my class.

The mobile phone you are looking for is on sale. (Das Pronomen fählt in der Regel weg)

Die Präposition z. B. "for" kann vor dem Relativpronomen "which"  oder "whom" stehen, nicht vor "who" und "that".
